Rachel Giesber Clingman, partner-in-charge of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP’s Houston office, has been named among the country’s best women litigators by Benchmark Litigation.
The inaugural edition of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation” recognizes Ms. Clingman for complex litigation, crisis management and commercial disputes. Her recent representation includes the defense of an offshore drilling contractor in connection with the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill and defense of other clients in litigation, primarily in the areas of energy, aviation and insurance.
“Rachel is a go-to lawyer for litigation, especially for complex legal challenges that trigger media, government, investor or public scrutiny, and require business judgment in addition to legal excellence and strategy,” said Sutherland Managing Partner Mark D. Wasserman. “We are very pleased with the recognition and proud of her leadership.”
In addition to trials and arbitrations, Ms. Clingman counsels clients on crisis and risk management, insurance and indemnity, and investigations. She has testified before a Congressional committee and has presented corporate witnesses for testimony before Congress, administrative agencies and commissions, and state and federal courts and arbitration panels.
Benchmark Litigation is an annual guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys. The results are the culmination of six months of research that included extensive interviews with litigators and clients.
